Route

This lovely out & back in the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) takes you to the summit of Rhos Dirion and Twmpa, also known as Lord Hereford's Knob.

This fairly straightforward route starts from a small car park at Gospel Pass, the highest road pass in Wales.

The path is fairly obvious as you make the immediate ascent towards the summit of Twmpa. The views are absolutely breathtaking and if you look carefully you can see the trig point of Hay Bluff on the opposite ridge.

Continue on the South West path past Twmpa towards Rhos Dirion.

Once you've reached the trig point of Rhos Dirion, retrace your steps back towards the car. This is one out & back that I never get bored of doing, the views from both directions are beautiful, even in overcast conditions.
