Route

Straightforward out and back to Pen Twyn Mawr. It is a gradual zig zag incline on a forestry track the whole way until you turn to head towards to the summit of Pen Twyn Mawr.

Near the summit you head through a small gate into open fields where you’re likely to encounter sheep and wild ponies. There is no obvious path for the final third of a mile as you make the last ascent towards the summit of Pen Twyn Mawr. The ground in this section can be quite uneven, so walking boots are highly recommended.

A quiet walk that provides amazing views over the valley towards Chwarel y Fan.
