Route
A short but rewarding walk if you're looking for a quick mountain fix. At just 2 miles, Moel y Cerrig Duon is perfect for beginners wanting to build confidence or locals looking to squeeze in a hill before or after work.
There's a large free car park at the start, which already offers fantastic views before you've even set off. The route is easy to follow, tracking alongside a fence line almost all the way to the summit, where you'll find a small cairn marking the top.
The ground can be uneven and a little boggy in places, but there are no technical or exposed sections to worry about.
On a clear day, the panoramic views are well worth the short climb.
A great little hill that's often overlooked but definitely worth adding to your list.
