Route
This walk begins from the same car park used for the Snowdon Ranger Path, with pay and display parking available.
From the car park, cross the railway line and start the steady zig zag climb on the Snowdon Ranger Path. Once you’ve gained a bit of height, take the left hand turn towards Llanberis, rather than continuing on towards Snowdon.
We headed to the summit of Moel Cynghorion first, which is marked by a small cairn rather than a trig point. From here, simply retrace your steps for a short distance before continuing on towards Foel Gron.
The paths are easy to follow, with no technical sections or exposed ground. There are, however, a number of false summits along the way, so it’s worth keeping that in mind and not assuming the top has been reached too early.
